The Davidic Covenant is the means by which a proxy savior can minister to others and invoke protection for them. In this lesson, we will explore the making of Davidic kings and the role played not only by the greatest of all Davidic kings (Jesus Christ Himself) but also by another son of David—raised up in the latter days. The choices people make during these grand end-time events are represented symbolically by plants, stones, metals, and even animals!
Highlights include the portrayal of Abraham, the Davidic servant, and Jesus Christ in the Coronation Hymn of Isaiah 9; an illustration of Isaiah 11:1; the battle between chaos and creation in Isaiah 9–12; Eliakim & Shebna as faithful or evil examples David Covenant keeping; David’s big mistake in 1 Chronicles 21; the Davidic protection clause and how it operates; a Davidic Covenant collage; Book of Mormon and early Church History examples of Davidic Covenant keeping; the cryptic “branch” prophecy of Ezekiel 17; and charts illustrating Isaiah’s graduated plant, animal, and metallic imagery.
